Psalm 119:35

Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
-- Psalm 119:35
…for that is where my happiness is found.
Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.
--John 4:34
O, would that the sustenance of my soul were to do the will of the Father.  Rather, I wish this truth to be ever present upon my conscience.  Indeed, the word of the Lord does satisfy, as water in a dry, weary land.  True, also, that I hide that word in my heart so as to continually appropriate my acceptability before God.  Yet, I find myself along other paths—though all my heart groans for rightness.  I need not search for alternative places of respite from the evil within and without.  That Way is the one of my inclination; I would be well pleased should I traverse its ground.  As arithmetic brings self-evident truths, so here, my happiness is most assuredly found along the path of your commands.  I would find myself fulfilled even as the Lord is fulfilled: completely, totally, certainly, utterly, eternally, sufficiently.
