Wanna Live?

John 3:13-15 ESV

No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

JOHN 3:13-15 CEV-EN

No one has gone up to heaven except the Son of Man, who came down from there. And the Son of Man must be lifted up, just as the metal snake was lifted up by Moses in the desert. Then everyone who has faith in the Son of Man will have eternal life.

John 10:10 NLT

Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

John 14:6 NKJV

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Galatians 2:20 ASV

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

See where this is goin?
The Son of Man, that is, Jesus, must be lifted up, so that whoever believes in him can have eternal life in them. Eternal life in you. What kind of life are you hoping for? What is more than a rich and satisfying life? The point is, Jesus is the life. Eternal life in you is Jesus in you. Same thing. If you do not have the Son you do not have life, because eternal life is in Jesus, the Son of God (see 1 John 5:11, 12). If, as you examine yourself, you conclude that you need abundant, a rich and satisfying, life, then you have concluded that you need Jesus, the Christ, Son of the living God. He is eternal life; and not just in duration, either. We (the great cloud of witnesses to the reality of this life) are talking about quality: a meaningful purpose tailored specifically to who you are in Jesus. Eternal life is the actual fulfilment of your most fundamental longings, and much more than the temporary satiation of your selfish, vain attempts at satisfaction from any other source. Rest and nourishment for your soul, and you do not even have to die first.

Get life. Get Christ.
