Pastor Holy Ghost

When the rains come, double rainbows are not an uncommon sighting from the bedroom window. When the rains end, airborne dust prevails mightily over the land.

The rains are beginning to end.

Sunday, we attended the Full Gospel Church International. As it turned out, Sunday was also Children's Sunday there. The congregation had a chance to encourage the kids as they led worship through song ministration, choreography, a skit (the Good Samaritan), and even the preached word. It is this latter happening upon which I would like to comment briefly, because the kid had been nicknamed "Pastor Holy Ghost." After he prayed, he moved right to the Bible.

What was his text?

Matthew 19:14 ESV

but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."

His points:
1. Children are important.
2. Children are not a burden, but a blessing.
3. Teach children
4. Teach children
5. Teach children everything they need to know

He quipped, "I think in Christ we are all one, but I will say that children are more important."

Then he took his seat.

All of 5 minutes were consumed, most of which passed in utter surprise and humor at the straightforwardness and brevity of Pastor Holy Ghost's message for us that morning. I will admit that I was also initially apprehensive about the child getting up to preach. I then noticed that he had a single sheet of notes, on which was presumably written his five points.

So, that was Sunday morning.

In other news, I will be teaching some students at the Evangelical Presbyterian school during their Religious Knowledge period tomorrow morning (7:30 - 8:30 a.m.). I will likely let them know of the Importance of Wisdom, as I did with the students at Adom School.

Other than that, I am beginning in earnest to network with the Youth Pastors in this and the surrounding areas. So far, I know 3 Youth Pastors, and only one on a deeper level than acquaintance. Still, we are making progress.
