Bring in the New Year

Matthew 17:24-27 ESV
When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, "Does your teacher not pay the tax?" He said, "Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?" And when he said, "From others," Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free. However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself."
Ephesians 2:11-13 ESV
Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called "the uncircumcision" by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands (;) remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
1 John 3:1a ESV
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.
The family gets all the perks.
Have you realized that, in confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and believing God has raised him from the dead, you become royalty? What better lineage than the Almighty's? What better inheritance than every spiritual blessing, access to the Lord's divine nature, and to share in the glory of the name above all names?? Did you see the word 'commonwealth' in Ephesians chapter 2?
Join the commonweatlh; be adopted and transformed. What a worthwhile resolution for, you know, as soon as possible. And forever.
Commonwealth under the King of Kings = very yes.
