Decisions Decisions...

Today I made a decision for Christ.  You heard correctly.
(PICK ONE;
That’s great! Praise God!
That’s great; …But I thought you… were already….
Ok.  Where’re you going with this?)
Here’s the deal.  Joshua said choose ye this day whom it is you will serve.  Jesus said no one will take his sheep out of his hand.  Paul said the Holy Spirit is our personal guarantee from God himself.  ‘Once saved, always saved,’ right?
What about once save, not exempt?  You know that God has given us (who know God, not just about God) everything needed for life and godliness?  2 Peter chapter 1, verse 3 (now you know).  God said he would never stop being enough for us (Deuteronomy chapter 31, verse 6).  But what about my side of the bargain?  Your side?
Are we using everything God has given you for the purpose of life and godliness?  Are we abandoning God?  If we have to choose every single day, then what choice will we make? Every. Single. Day.  Think, then do something about it.

I’m back in Nkwanta, for a few days now.  The Internet moves more slowly here!  Please be patient if electricity outages prevent me from communicating certain weeks.  Now with an update.
There really has been little “happening” since we got back in the evening of July 6.  What I mean is that I haven’t had to hit the ground running, as it were.  I have enjoyed resting, and have begun to anticipate more concretely what I may be doing while I am in here in Ghana.  This afternoon, when going around the town with my Dad, I was given two Youth Ministry opportunities.  One of them is this Friday!!  I am getting to speak to a group about the topic of friendship.  My thoughts as of now are centered around the necessity of developing one’s own sense of purpose, gifts, and talents so that one can know both how to contribute one’s best, and also to receive the most appropriate help.  Also, there is a high school in town, which provides a great ministry opportunity for me.  I am passionate about young people having a sense of who they are, and of their life’s purpose.  That’s as much as I know at present.

Remember your assignment: Who are you?  For help answering this, think about (fill in the blank).  Without this, you lose your most crucial sense of self.  Identity is found in relationship.  I hope that helps.  Take your time to reflect on it.  Also, you don’t have to tell me.
And the next one: What’s the point?  Why does it matter that you are who you are?
Write as little or as much as you want, if you have a journal (online or material), and if writing is what you prefer.
