Busy Busy

This is the busiest week I have had in a long time. It feels good.

Over the weekend, I took part somewhat in the Nkwanta Presbytery Youth program for the Global Evangelical Church. It started on Wednesday and ended Sunday afternoon. About 6 churches were represented throughout. Each congregation's cohort stayed in Nkwanta for the whole program, though some came from 30 minutes north, west, and south. The theme of the camp weekend was "Thy Will be Done," during which we were challenged to discover and obey the will of God for all and each of our lives.

Since last week, I had been working on an outline of 1 Corinthians. Wednesday night I was called upon to give a 45-minute overview of the epistle. In short, Paul addresses the various problems threatening to dismantle the Corinthians' beliefs. He deals with contentions stemming from a desire to turn Paul and other apostles into gods themselves, with misusing the sacrament of communion, with understanding the spiritual gifts, with the Christian's conscience, with taking other believers to court, and with living in the place wherein God has called one to be. Underneath all of these, Paul gives the admonition to keep Jesus as the foundation, rather than to build religious dogma upon selfish motives and incomplete understanding of the Christian faith.

So. That is that. Not as "long-sounding" when I summarized it like that, I suppose.

However, I have quite surpassed my bedtime at this point.

Wednesday was National (U.S.A.) Chocolate Chip Cookie Day; no kidding.

...and a pic.
