...for me, anyway.

I need to get ready for graduate studies. I have about 7 months until I go back into an academic context. That amount of time used to seem like half an eternity. Now, though, it is just around the corner of the relatively short street on which I have already reached halfway (if that makes sense).

What makes that upcoming transition worthy of note is that I have under gone another mental milestone. I will be matriculating this Fall as a man. Sure, I am young among men. Still, I am a young MAN, rather than a YOUNG man. My responsibilities will be very similar to what they were during my undergraduate stint: classes, coursework, a paying job, possibly roommates. In addition, I will very likely be taking care of a car. Moreover, I will be classes in direct accordance with my preferred career trajectory, rather than a liberal-arts approach. I may begin serious networking and relationship building, and will be able to converse with a number of like-purposed individuals about our life missions.

Very nearly entirely, I am pleased with what is turning out to be the beginning of a great adventure (even with that amazing adverbial flourish just now).
